Title Bad experiences with Coris America
Posted By Raj , Dated : 05-Mar-2008 11:35 AM
Experience I have had a very bad experience with Coris America.
My father has some stomatch infection when he came here.
Coris America said that they would be reimbursing all medical bills for the same.
After the treatment, I faxed them all the bills & they informed me that they would send the payment the same day.
However I was in for a surprise when they did not send the bills. In all the subsequent calls, they are maintaining that they will send the bills the same day.
Their attitude has been extremely bad & uncooperative

Title Visitor Health Insurance - Unpaid bills
Posted By Aurobindo Ghosh , Dated : 26-Dec-2007 08:16 PM
Experience I had my parents come in from India more than 4 years back to California. At that time I bought insurance at a (Indian)company based in Ohio-I guess it was called IndUs(I forgot now). I think the underwriter was AIG. So my father had an issue and took him to a nearby hospital where he was diagnosed with cancer (after a biopsy). He was made to stay in the hospital for 5 days for a biopsy. I got a bill for 30k+ and the insurance paid only around 5k+. They denied rest of it. My father left the country immediately. However the bills and then collection letter in his name came for a few years since then but I ignored it. Now since he is in remission, I want him to visit me again next year. Anybody has any ideas about any issues at Port of entry? I will not even ask about health insurance because, I know I wont get one because of his preexisting condition and I am thinking of taking a chance. Any suggestions? Sorry for the long post.

Posted By Neeraj Gupta , Dated : 09-Sep-2007 03:47 PM
Experience I have been in dilemma of choosing the right insurance company for the visitor insurance for my mother-in-law. After reading postings on this website and speaking with a customer service rep at visitorscoverage.com, I have just bought the insurance from Liaison Continent Plan A. The cust serv rep was very helpful in providing information and in finding the appropriate plan for me. I will try my best to post details of my experience if I file a claim during the coverage period. A great site for people like me who need such information.
Please contact me directly at neeraj19oct at my yahoo account if you have any questions.

Good luck to you all.

Title ICICI Lombard Reimbursement denied
Posted By Mahesh , Dated : 29-Jul-2007 01:00 AM
Experience My parents came to USA in April 2007.My father had a heart attack, so he was in hospital for 4 days. We purchased medical insurance for our parents from ICICI Lombard which states that it will cover pre-existing life threatening conditions.
But now, it is denying to pay any expenses, though doctors have mentioned that it was a life threatening condition.
Does someone have a suggestion on how to handle this? You can post it here or e-mail at mduay@yahoo.com.
Thanks.

Title Coris does not pay - do not buy their service
Posted By Alex Istomin , Dated : 29-Dec-2006 06:53 PM
Experience Hello,
Please contact me directly with more details regarding your experience with Coris. My e-mail is alex@istomin.net and I started a website where I will post info about Coris - www.nopayment.org
I had to deal with Coris and his director Mr. Alfredo Julian this summer - I am a medical provider. I had treated about 50-60 patients insured by Coris. You are saying that they refused to pay for the treatment, guess what - Coris did not pay me a penny for the service. They are saying now that "Coris is not an insurance company" You can file a complaint against them by following this link:
http://servicepoint.fldfs.com/eservice_enu/start.swe?SWECmd=Login&SWECM=S&SWETS=1165948526234
It is an official website of Florida State and Coris is under Florida State Jurisdiction.
Also I posted some links on www.nopayment.com - it appears that Coris lost their license in Ma

It seems that they do not cover patient’s treatment or paying providers.

Experience Hello all,

My mother in law came here without any insurance and then 2 weeks ago we had to take care to emergency where they did a lot of tests and she stayed there for ~5hrs.

total bill is running close to 7k, can you suggest what can be done to bring the bill down. Can i approach the county or some non-profit organization?

The bill is on my Mother-in-law's name and she has since gone back to india, don't think i am liable to pay but want to resolve the matter amicably.

Any pointers will be really helpful.

Thanks.

Title Great Service, Thank you Path2usa - long live
Posted By Ravi Pradhan , Dated : 03-Jun-2006 11:40 AM
Experience I was not knowing anything, when I started shopping for a Visitor Insurance for my Parents.
Afar doing lots of research and surfing through different website, I found that there are lots of mix opinions about insurance plans on different websites. I had many questions initially but those came down to 3 questions.

1. Why not buy from home country, in my case India.
(I read enough on this and I think there are logical and practical reasons to prefer a US company plan)

2. Where to buy it from?

(This wasn’t very tough because, I think path2usa is unbeatable as compare to other source, at least it is my observation.
Which later become my experience and I am thankful to myself that I did no mistake choosing path2usa)

3. What plan to buy which really works and save me money too.
(It was very confusing, which solved with some reading, but a discussion with Murali( thank you) helped me a lot to make my decision easy.
(Hats off to Murlai- He is awesome, Boy!, he has immense knowledge)

Now My experience:

My search ended at path2usa and I bought the insurance from path2usa.com. I had to use the insurance just once for Mother's fever. When the time come to use the insurance, Path2usa gone beyond my expectations. I mother had fever for 5 continuous day which I was avoiding to not to take to the Dr, the 4th day the fever was 104 and she was not in good condition, I decided to immediately take her to the hospital.
It was night 1 PM in Fremont California. Since I did not know the formal procedure of using the insurance so I tried giving call to toll free number on the insurance card, but there wasn't any response.
So thought of giving a call to Path2usa, and surprising my phone was attended and got the guidance. I went to the nearest emergency, Dr. did the checkup put her drip and relapsed her after an hour. And we came back home. I know it was not very serious however I didn’t want to take chance and just for my piece of mind I wanted to make sure that I provided the needed care for my Mom on time. Later after 4 weeks I filed the claim, the insurance company took care of the claims as per the plan.
I had liasion plan. I had to pay my deductible 250$ + some coinsurance.

Reason being I am writing all this is first of all I am really thankful for path2usa for the commitment of the service, which I received when I needed it.
Secondly, I saw that most of the people are not providing their actual experience. Most of the postings are either questions or bad experience. I think it was my duty to come back to this forum/website and give back this information back; I definitely owe this to this wonderful website. (Path2usa helped me a lot in last 4yrs since I am in USA)

Now this is what I have to say:

I searched and found that thee are many websites who list the same plans, but What I found on Path2usa is exceptionally well and interesting as compare to all others.

- A great source of information, all the articles which I went through made me understand quite a lot about visitor insurance - All the Tools to select and compare insurance plan is very very helpful, that’s what a Online shopper is looking for.
- Level of service and personal touch (At least I have experienced it and I will give 100+ out of 100).

I want to tank Path2usa.com for their service not only for insurance related but overall, which is helping many of us.
I want to convey my best wishes to the entire path2usa and special and profound thanks to Murali (he deserves).
I will come again to path2usa for my insurance or when I am in need of any advice ;)

If you need any feedback or any information directly from me you can reach me : sunny_mact at yahoo email.

Title thanks Murali!!!!
Posted By AJay Phadnis , Dated : 21-Apr-2006 01:35 PM
Experience I know this is late but a bunch of thanks from my side.

It so happened that in Dec my mom got heart attack and she was admitted to the hospital for emergency.

She did have medical insurance but I was not sure what to do.

I posted a message on this forum for the senior user Murali.

Not only did he returned my call but comforted me and told me the things i needed to do.

I was really relieved after I talked to him.

I know this might sound cliche but I really appreciate Murali for doing this even though when I did not knew him.

Thanks Murali and keep up the good work
